How to Use
For Leather Edges
- Apply a small amount of Tokonole evenly using a finger, cloth, spreader or spatula.
- Burnish using a wooden burnisher, canvas, glass slicker or similar tool.
- Continue rubbing until the edge becomes smooth and glossy.
For the Flesh Side
- Spread a thin, even coat over the flesh side.
- Burnish using a glass slicker, canvas, wooden block or cloth while the product is still slightly damp.
- The leather fibres compress, leaving a smooth, clean surface with a subtle sheen.
If Tokonole accidentally gets onto the grain side, simply wipe it away immediately before it dries.
Tips for Best Results
- Apply thin, even coats rather than a heavy layer.
- Bevel the edge before burnishing for the cleanest finish.
- Works best on vegetable-tanned leather but can also be used on many chrome-tanned leathers where edge burnishing is possible.
- If the leather will be dyed, antiqued or stained afterwards, test on a scrap piece first. Burnished surfaces may resist colour penetration.
- Store tightly closed and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or freezing temperatures.
