About the Design – Curved Centre Bar Buckle
Unlike flat buckles, the curved frame follows a slight arc that helps the buckle sit more naturally on wearable and load-bearing leather goods. The centre bar construction — one of the oldest and most widely used buckle styles in leathercraft — allows the strap to wrap around the bar while the prong engages with punched holes to form the closure. A separate keeper loop is generally not required, as the folded strap naturally stabilises itself around the centre bar.
The curved geometry delivers improved strap flow, better conformity to the body, reduced strap twisting, and a cleaner lay on collars and harness goods.
