A medium-tempered, mulberry full-grain strap with a rich aniline finish and a deep, saturated colour. Mulberry is a rare tone in premium veg tan strapping leather — this consignment offers an unusual opportunity to work with a colour that is seldom available at this quality. At 2.5–2.7mm, it is a lighter-weight leather with a pliable, comfortable hand, and the suede-like flesh side gives it a soft interior. Edge burnishing performance is excellent.

This belt blank comes from an extra-stock consignment sourced through India-based manufacturers who work predominantly with Italian-origin tanneries. These are surplus hides — not seconds or rejects — cleared at significantly below-standard pricing. Quantities are limited and will not be restocked.
Tanning & Finish
Veg tan / veg retan. The aniline finish is applied directly to the grain with no topcoat — preserving the natural surface texture, maximising burnish response, and ensuring a patina that develops authentically with use.
Edge Burnishing Performance
Rated Very Good. The dense fibre structure allows edges to compact cleanly using water, gum, wax, or friction-based methods.
Aging & Patina
With use and exposure, the leather will develop a natural patina — deepening in tone and character over time, as is typical of aniline-finished veg tan leather.
