Sandpaper tears, clogs with leather dust, and goes blunt halfway through a job. The NT Cutter Dresser S (S-10P) is the Japanese answer — a flat file with an embossed steel "Ever Grit" plate whose teeth bite in every direction: push, pull, or circular strokes. When it loads up, brush the dust off and it keeps cutting, job after job.
For leathercraft, the flat trapezoid plate earns its keep in two places: roughening the grain or flesh side so contact cement gets a proper grip, and sanding laminated edges flat and square before burnishing or edge paint.

⚠️ Medium grit leaves a matte, roughened surface by design — keep it away from finished show faces and test on scrap first. For a polished edge, follow sanding with a burnishing agent such as Tokonole.
