TOKO PRO Burnishing Gum is a water-based edge and flesh-side finishing compound formulated for use on vegetable-tanned, chrome-tanned, and combination-tanned leather. It is widely used in professional leathercraft for achieving a smooth, consolidated surface on raw leather edges and backs.
The formula combines water-based glue, resin, and select Italian waxes. The glue and resin bind and consolidate loose leather fibres, while the waxes impart a natural texture and low-to-medium gloss. Viscosity is moderate — it spreads evenly without running, making it manageable for both beginners and experienced craftspeople. Drying time is optimised for consistent results across different leather thicknesses and ambient conditions.
Available in 50g and 100g sizes.
Applications
- Burnishing and consolidating the flesh side (back) of leather
- Edge finishing on cut leather straps, belts, and panels

- Use with wooden burnishing sticks, canvas, or rotary burnishing tools
- Compatible with sandalwood and other hardwood burnishers
