The divider features a screw adjustment mechanism allowing controlled opening adjustment while helping maintain the set spacing during use.
Constructed from steel with a slim profile and pointed legs, it is suitable for leather marking, pattern work and general workshop layout tasks.
Usage in Leathercraft
Wing dividers are among the most commonly used layout tools in leathercraft.
Typical uses include:
- Marking stitch lines parallel to edges
- Scribing crease and decorative guide lines
- Transferring measurements between parts
- Setting strap spacing
- Marking hole positions and symmetry points
- Pattern layout and proportion checking
For hand stitching, the divider is frequently used to establish a consistent stitch line offset from the leather edge before pricking or punching.
